It was Saturday, 15 September. I’d been working hard all year. Winter had passed, spring was finally here everything was waking up. I was standing in my apartment, with my backpack on, hiking shoes laced up, looking over what less than 12 hours before had been a chaos of food, clothes, gear, shredded newspaper and boxes everywhere. Right now I had everything I needed in my life, on my back to survive. This is a picture story of hiking the Bibbulmun Track, of 1002km in 54 days.

Thank you so much for your fine work in producing the Bibbulmun series. I walked it 2016/17 - as a 73 year old. My wife was unable to join me and has been enjoying the surrogate experience through your work. Really appreciate your shot selection, framing, music and all that goes to make a fine series. Well done for carrying the extra weight to make this possible.
